“Temporary residence” isn't a single permit. Cyprus has different residence categories depending on your reason for staying.
A visitor residence permit may be relevant if you intend to reside in Cyprus without carrying out economic activity.
Employment requires the appropriate residence and employment route, not an ordinary visitor permit.
Your relationship and the sponsor's Cyprus status determine which family residence route may apply.
Students, researchers, digital nomads and other applicants can fall under separate immigration categories.
That is where we start—not with a form, but with your reason for staying.
For many third-country nationals who want to reside in Cyprus without working, the temporary visitor residence permit is the relevant starting point.
We check your current immigration position before filing.
We help organize the financial evidence relevant to your application.
We review the applicable residence/accommodation documentation.
We identify the insurance or other supporting evidence applicable to your route.
We organize relationship and dependant evidence where family members apply.
We identify which documents require official translation and certification.
Visitor applications currently use Form MVIS8, accompanied by the supporting documents applicable to the applicant's circumstances.
We review your nationality, purpose of stay, family position and current Cyprus status.
We organize the forms and supporting evidence required for the applicable permit.
We guide you through the applicable filing, fees and biometric requirements.
We assist with renewals and changes that may affect your residence position.
One clear route from “I want to stay” to “my residence is properly documented.”
For a visitor temporary residence permit, applicants who have not previously registered are registered in the Aliens Registry and issued an Alien Registration Card. Biometric data and the applicant's signature are also required for the residence permit.

A first visitor temporary residence permit is generally issued for one year, subject to passport validity, and can be renewed as long as the relevant criteria continue to be met.
Important Travel Rule: One detail matters if you travel frequently: a holder of a valid temporary residence permit can generally re-enter Cyprus using the valid permit and passport provided they have not remained outside Cyprus for more than three months.
Generally up to 1 year for a visitor permit, subject to passport validity.
Possible if the relevant conditions remain satisfied and financial proof is updated.
Extended absence (>3 months) can affect the ability to return using the temporary permit.
Living in Cyprus should not mean constantly wondering whether your paperwork is still right.
Temporary residence can look straightforward until the applicant has a spouse, overseas income, changing immigration status, an approaching visa expiry or plans that do not fit the visitor category.
